Keystone Colorado Sledding: Silverthorne Recreation Center
Ok, so the kids want a Keystone Colorado sledding hill. Well, you can do some tubing through Keystone Resort (check for current price). But you say you are a little tapped of cash after paying for plane tickets and left tickets? Well, try the Silverthorne Recreation Center.
If you take Highway 6 all the way back to Interstate 70, go under the Interstate and then make a right at the Wendy’s (Rainbow Drive). About 500 yards down the road is the Silverthorne Recreation Center. Next to the recreation center is a soccer field scooped out of the earth. It is a great, FREE place to go sledding in the Keystone Colorado area. The best part is that if the kids need a restroom or get cold, the rec center is right next door. If you need sleds, you can usually buy some at the Sports Authority (next to the City Market), Target (further north of Hwy 6) or the Wal Mart in Frisco. They are pretty inexpensive. Sometimes, guests will leave sleds at the Keystone Colorado rental house.
